The weather is getting warmer, spring is here, and soon summer will be here.

It must be time for Mario's Italian Ice.

It was originally called Mario's & Donna's Italian Lemonade.

A popular spot for people of all ages to get some delicious cold Italian Ice.

Located at 1068 W. Taylor St., in the Little Italy neighborhood in Chicago.

Mario DiPaolo Sr. and Dorothy DiPaolo opened the family lemonade stand in 1954. Their sister Donna helped run the shop.

Today, the lemonade stand is run by Mario DiPaolo Jr., his wife, and their three children.

Some of the most popular flavors include: cherry, coconut, lemon, orange, piña colada, pineapple, strawberry, and watermelon.

The flavors are made by hand from squeezed fruit, sugar and ice and are available in sizes from 7 ounces up to a five-gallon “party bucket.”
